The teaching of the Catholic religion is not compulsory
The response of the Ministry's document of the CGIL II cycle
In Further to the press on the legislative decree of the second round and signed by the Secretary General of the Federation of knowledge workers CGIL, the Italian Ministry of University and Research states:
Catholic education - is not true that "what is optional become mandatory." Nothing has changed, in fact, with regard to Catholic education and alternative activities. The teaching of the Catholic religion, however, becomes mandatory when the student has made the choice in this direction, as they were before the reform .
Failure to use the teaching of religion, as in the past, is not considered absent from classes for those who do not intend to use them. The roof of the 25% absence of the compulsory hours yearly, in this case, therefore, independent of the share is expected to religion is, in case of exemption for physical education and sports.
